As one of California’s premier surfing and vacation destinations, the city of Encinitas is a vibrant and authentic beach town located approximately 25 miles from Downtown San Diego.  This extraordinary city offers an eclectic mix of 60’s inspired beach culture, combined with unique boutique shopping, world class golf courses, new age meditation gardens, yoga studios and of course beautiful beaches!

With Carlsbad to the south, and Solana Beach just to the north, Encinitas covers approximately 20 square miles, with over 6 miles spanning the beautiful Pacific Ocean coastline.  This charming coastal city is comprised of five distinct communities; Leucadia, historic Encinitas, Cardiff by the Sea, Olivenhain, and New Encinitas, each having their own identity and offering something to fit everyone’s lifestyle.

Recently named among the 20 best surf towns in the world by National Geographic, Encinitas definitely wears its surf history proudly. For those surfing devotees, paddle out at Swami’s, one of the most coveted surfing spots located near the southernmost end of Encinitas for some world-class surfing.  There is a small park just at the top of the bluff, where you can grab an early morning coffee and simply relax while watching the surfers ride the waves.

For those who prefer to lay out in the sun, Moonlight Beach is the perfect place to do so due its wide, flat sandy area.  With volleyball and tennis courts, a snack bar, and even bonfire pits, this is the perfect beach to play volleyball, roast some marshmallows and watch the amazing San Diego sunsets!

In addition to amazing beaches, bird lovers flock to San Elijo Lagoon, where they can enjoy free guided nature walks every Saturday, engage in interactive activities at the Nature Center, or scan the landscape for awe-inspiring sightings of rare birds!

Encinitas reputation as a premier travel destination is due in large part to its perfect year round, Mediterranean climate.  No matter what time of year it may be, you are able to enjoy the various attractions Encinitas has to offer, whether you are spending a day at the beautiful San Diego Botanical Gardens, meditating near the Koi Ponds at the Self-Realization Fellowship, or strolling through vibrant downtown Encinitas visiting the sidewalk cafes and unique boutiques.

People love to call Encinitas home, in large part due to the housing diversity this city has to offer.  Not only are there beautiful beachfront properties and equestrian estates, but there are various ocean view properties at nearly every price point.  Not to mention, Encinitas is home to some of the top ranked middle and high schools in the state!!

With so many beautiful beaches and attractions this quaint, seaside community has to offer, Encinitas is the perfect place to raise a family, vacation, or work in! There is always something new to discover, making Encinitas the perfect place to enjoy the classic Southern California beach lifestyle.
