Located in the Cuyamaca Mountains, just east of Alpine, sits the small-town community of Descanso.

 

Take a drive through the main street and you can see that Descanso just exudes that Old West charm.  Stop for a delicious meal at Descanso Junction Restaurant, where the portions are large and the food mouth-watering good!

 

Grab some snacks from Perkins Market, before heading out to Cuyamaca Rancho State Park, where you can hike the trails, have a picnic and enjoy the scenic vistas surrounding you!

 

With lots of sprawling ranches, there is a large equestrian community here, as well as local shops that cater to them, including family-owned and operated, Descanso Hay and Feed.

 

Although small in size, the community of Descanso truly has it all!
