Outside of these major employers, is The Bernardo Winery. One of the oldest wineries located in San Diego County. Established and founded by The Rizzo Family in 1889 has been making wine from locally sourced grapes located on their vineyard. The Bernardo Winery also produces Cold Pressed Virgin Olive Oil from the many olive trees that are located on the property.

 

There is no denying that there is a lot to do in Rancho Bernardo. The city is so active and lively they also have a high demand for tourist. There is an annual carnival-type street fair called, RB Alive!, that happens every year during the summer. With over 300 booths featuring arts and crafts, kid zone, cultural center, classic car show and much more.

 

Rancho Bernardo Community is primarily a retirement community; however, a younger demographic is moving into the community to raise their children and be closer to their family. Theses families are enrolling their children in the award-winning Poway unified school district as early as preschool.
