Ashely McEvers, Executive Director of Global Relocation & Referral Services
Success
- Let’s talk about your success. Career in real estate. Recent position with PSIR – I’ve been in the industry for nearly 15 years. I started in the law and mortgage industries prior to real estate. I worked in relocation for 13 of the past 15 years with another local luxury boutique firm prior to joining Pacific Sotheby’s International Realty.
- Awards? Highlights? Won several awards for my work in other real estate networks. Also won the Global Ambassador Award at a conference in Athens, Greece 2 years ago.
- What makes you so passionate about real estate? Helping in the process of connecting people to find a home – it’s rewarding and exhilarating at the same time. It’s an ever-changing business and that keeps it exciting! I love a good challenge and hate being stagnant – which makes me passionate about how real estate operates!
- What do you attribute your success to? Hard work, persistence, never giving up and a few great mentors along the way.
- What are some things you’ve discovered about being in real estate that you may have not thought about prior to starting your career in it? How truly global it is. Clients really do come from near and far to Southern California as it is clearly a highly desirable place. I love when I’m visiting another country and have people tell me about their visit to the SoCal area and their possible interest in purchasing a home here – it’s truly amazing!
- What advice do you have for someone coming into the industry? Learn everything there is to know about the local market. Educate yourself on every piece of inventory so when you do get an opportunity to connect with a new client, you make yourself the go-to. Take the time to study the marketing and tools – it will only help position you as the local expert!
Current & Future Real Estate Market
- What’s the current state of the real estate market? The current state of the housing market appears to be one of unprecedented low inventory combined with high buyer demand especially in Southern California (OC and SD). The factors at play are 1. Historically low interest rates. 2. Buyer migration to less populated areas. 3. Seller migration to tax friendly areas outside of California. 4. Extended work from home orders.
- What’s the future of the real estate market? The water gets a little more murky here but in general and based on the reasons above, we are predicting a continued strong market into 2021. Interest rates will play the biggest factor here, so a rise in rates (not expected) of 1% could dampen demand and slow the market down. Overall, still an optimistic outlook for the future.
Personal Development
- What helps you get inspired everyday? Practicing gratitude, daily affirmations, and always focusing on the positive.
- Where do you see yourself in the next five years? In San Diego (hopefully Del Mar or Solana Beach) at Pacific Sotheby’s International Realty, hopefully leading the Relocation and Referral Services division to new heights!
