How do you stay motivated? It’s a question that everyone asks themselves at one point or another in their life, but it becomes especially important when things get tough. And for Christina Thomas – who has been through plenty already- the answer came easy! She shared with us on the Real Podcast how she was able to keep going even after suffering personal setbacks and failures and her role as a real estate agent at PSIR.
First things first: I want you guys to know what an inspiration this woman is to all. Christina’s life was a series of hardships that she faced, but it didn’t hold back the strong woman she is today. She had to learn how to take care of herself when growing up in an environment where there were so many problems and then eventually became homeless at just 18-years old with no education or work experience – yet still managed to achieve success despite these setbacks!
Below, we have a few questions and answers from our podcast that I believe were important to share.
Q: What got you into real estate and made you so passionate about it?
A: I got into real estate because I value the meaning of a home. As an individual who knows what it feels like not to have a home, I wanted to make sure I could help other people achieve their goal of having their dream home. A home gives you a feeling of security.
Q: Tell us about your new role as a brand influencer – hand-selecting agents to thrive at PSIR.
A: This new role is recruiting. I can meet and talk to people and bring them into our company. Having the ability to meet people and talk to people is something I love, and I can reinvigorate the brand that I am supporting through the people I bring in.
Q: What’s different now with PSIR and it’s brand?
A: You can’t compare our marketing and global range with any other company. Our tools and the support we have in our company bring happiness to our workers. When you are happy, more clients come. The brand and culture of our company work together to future success for our agents.
Q: How are you helping create the culture in PSIR?
A: Bringing in new people and building a new group of agents helps create the culture of PSIR. If you become a part of something that’s big, it helps draw in others who also want to be part of something big. Our culture and values bring in others. Culture is something you feel, it’s a feeling of family and being included.
Q: What do you attribute your success to?
A: The fear of going back to where I was as a teenager. I never want my family to go through what I went through. I am accountable to myself first, leading to providing a home for my kids. I have a natural grind, and I just get up and go. I’m not a quitter.
Q: What advice do you have for a new realtor or someone coming into the industry?
A: Be authentic. I see a lot of greed in real estate because agents always want more money. Your name is everything, and if you are authentic and ethical, people will hire you.
We all go through tough times, and we can always choose what type of person we want to be; This is why you must do the right thing at work and in your personal life. If you’re an honest, ethical individual with a great attitude, clients will flock to you for business because they know who they are dealing with. You have control over how people perceive you, so make sure that when someone thinks about hiring or associating with you that their thoughts are positive ones! Remember being kind doesn’t cost anything, but it may just pay off in ways too big to measure.
