Residential Development SpecialistOn this episode of The REAL podcast, we sat down with one of our very first friends and clients, Ryan Dalzell. In our interview we discussed how he successfully uses video in his role as marketing director for the Dalzell Group, and how he and his family have been able to create and grow their residential development division.

Real estate and development runs deep in the Dalzell family. Jim & Jo Dazell (Ryan’s parents) successfully ran a construction business in South Africa before making a move to the United States. But once they arrived, they quickly picked up where they left off.

Real Estate wasn’t always in the game plan for Ryan. He was initially training to become a full-time pilot and in fact received his CFI (Certified Flight Instructor) licenses in 2001. However, after 9/11 no one was hiring due to the changes in the industry and new regulations. This is about the time when the opportunity to jump into real estate presented itself.

And in 2004, Jim suggested that Ryan consider joining the family business full-time and become a real estate agent. Ryan was intrigued and had always felt inclined to join the family business. It seemed to be in alignment with what he wanted in life which was to raise a family and create deep roots in a great community. But it was as if faith would have tempted him, the same week that he received his real estate license, he also received an offer to fly as a pilot for a commercial airliner. He respectfully declined with no regrets.

The dynamics that are present when running a family business can be a good thing or a bad one. This of course all depends on the family members themselves. The Dalzell Group has discovered a Residential Development Specialistunique way to synergize with each others to deliver an exceptional experience to their clients.
