Today on the REAL Podcast, we sat down with Scott Peck to discuss real estate and his many success stories. Born and raised in the Midwest, he moved from Boston to San Diego about 33 years ago. Before real estate, he was a reporter for the international newspaper, The Christian Science Monitor. He was drafted during the Vietnam war, which led him to end up in Korea as a reporter for the Stars & Stripes Army Newspaper. We can add a lot more to his many accomplishments, but we will end here and move forward with a few questions and answers from our interview with him.
- Q: What got you into Real Estate?
- A: When I first got into real estate, it was only temporary. But then, 33 years later, here we are, and this is still one of my favorite jobs!
- Q: What makes you so passionate about real estate?
- A: I’m passionate about making a difference in people’s lives. The story beneath the surface of every real estate transaction centers on what is happening outside of just buying or selling the property–it has more to do with how we can help our clients live better, happier existences by listening closely and understanding their individual stories. Hence, they feel appreciated when it comes time to represent them during any future transactions!
- Q: What do you attribute your success to?
- A: I follow my intuition more than sales techniques, and I always care for clients with a deep level of compassion. It’s important to create relationships that become personal, so when you buy from me, it isn’t just another business transaction but an experience where we forged something together in the process. One thing about how I work is sending all customers apple Julian pie at Thanksgiving time.
- Q: What helps you get inspired everyday?
- A: I go deep into what I call Golden Light for inspiration and guidance. I also constantly give gratitude. I am thankful for my life and everything I have worked towards.
